Schubas w/ The Old Ceremony was FANTASTICO
We had a fantastic time playing with Nathan Xander (from Chicago) and The Old Ceremony (from Chapel Hill, NC) last Monday at Schubas! The show featured a new Sax-o-licious horn section of Amanda and Jeff, as well as our dear friend Jeff Brown pretty-ing it up on the accordion. Thanks so much to everyone who came out on a Monday night to fill up that great room and rock out with us. This was our 4th time playing at Schubas since May and it sure does feel like home. “Of Summer” voted #1 modern rock song on OurStage.com
"Of Summer," track 2 of The Double Single, rose to the top of the charts this month to become the #1 song in the OurStage.com modern rock channel for September! The song garnered several thousand plays in the month, and was then selected as a featured track on OurStage/WinAmp radio. Since then, "Of Summer" has gotten about 100 plays per day! If you have never checked out OurStage.com we highly recommend it - both for bands trying to get your music out there, and for music lovers to find hot new tunes.
Cobalt & the Hired Guns IS:
Cobalt & the Hired Guns is a boot-stompin’, tambourine-shakin’, irresistibly genuine good time. Seamlessly blending upbeat genres from Americana to PopPunk, this dynamic four piece puts on a rambunctious show filled with emotion and sharp musicianship. This band is about love and guts, energy and enthusiasm - refusing to pretend they aren’t having fun.
2008’s Jump the Fence saw the band getting serious about art and environmentalism - the album was a carbon neutral project - and the new release The Double Single ("You Left Your Sweater" & "Of Summer") aims for the rafters with a one-two punch of rip-roaring cow punk!
